Which roof covering is suitable for a carport?

Flat and shallow-pitched carport roofs are usually covered with bitumen or synthetic membranes. On steeper pitches, clay tiles, concrete tiles, or metal coverings are also possible. The choice depends on the pitch, the load-bearing structure, and the appearance you want.

Can a carport roof be planted?

Extensive green roofing is possible in principle if the structure can carry the additional load from substrate and water. The structural capacity must be checked in advance – with existing carports this is not always a given.
